Joshua Davis is a New York based artist, designer, and technologist producing both public and private work for companies, collectors, and institutions.

Since 1995, Joshua Davis has been using technology and computers as a medium to create projects that a recent Apple Pro Profile touted as infinitely interesting.
A key advantage to working with Joshua Davis Studios is our small boutique team. We are devoted to working with our clients and their needs, and translating those needs into a dynamic experience.

Research and development is at the heart of our process. We create experiences for web, print, broadcast and installation using hand-
drawn assets in conjunction with computational design to create an infinite amount of compositions, each as unique as your fingerprint. At the studio, our friends, partners and adventurers work with us to advance this medium, not replicate it.

Please contact Erik Attkisson in our Chicago office for new business inquiries.
Each year Joshua Davis Studios accepts a limited number of projects with progressive brands looking to collide our theories of generative art with commerce and design.

Puff Daddy, Bad Boy Entertainment, TOOL, Universal Records, Atlantic Records, HBO, Canon, Nokia, Charles Schwab, New Riders Publishers and others.

We were invited by Carlos Luna James of Matika Magazine in Los Angeles to design a 28 x 36 inch poster for their newest issue. » view website

We have had the opportunity to work with a lot of bands… and the bigger the act the more difficult it can become to keep creative vision. But when local New York City band Ming Dynasty came back to us to help them with their website and packaging of their first CD “Yellow Tiger” the brief was simple, listen to the CD and visualize the music.

Pulling from the lyrics from the CD’s single also entitled “yellow tiger”… “I am yellow tiger, you are little bird - I’ll eat you with my tea - You’d better run away”. The part traditional illustration and part generative illustration plays upon this song’s lyrics.

The CD contains a fold out 14 x 18 inch poster of the yellow tiger illustration and can be purchased via the bands website.

We were asked by amp energy to build an interactive application that would allowed site visitors to visualize the various experiences of drinking amp energy. In the process, visitors learned which energy drink was right for them. This work was done with our good friends at TribalDDB, Dallas and Chuck Anderson at nopattern.

Go ahead, which amp is best for you? » view website

Motorola commissioned Joshua Davis to create a print piece that represented “wires cut”, the theme behind their premier Bluetooth stereo headset, the S9. The posts here show the evolution of the piece. We had a nice write up in the Boston Globe that reviewed the art within the contemporary art context. » view article
